Multi Efek VS Stombox

Posted by E_FRIZ4L on Tuesday, March 03, 2009

AX3000G Review

The new AX3000G satiates that need with a powerful multi-effect processor that reaches far beyond its predecessors. Featuring Korg's proprietary "REMS" modeling technology, the AX3000G delivers high-quality modeling sounds and numerous ways to control those sounds in real time.

Price paid: $ 378

Purchased from: BTM

Ease of Use: It's really simple to use! After 5 minutes of messing around I found all options how to use it and edit the menu. Actually I didn't need any manual because it's self explaining but taking a look inside the manual can be helpfull, too. // 10
Sound: I'm using a Behringer V-Ampire 100w amp and it rocks! Korg made a good job in noise reduction, I guess, even on the max. Setting of gain and volume it's still clear and punchy. The effects are great. I love the metal distortion so much, it gives me so many sounds. The other amp simulations also are great, for clean I'm using the boutique 'cause it's the clearest I figured. // 10

Reliability & Durability: It's pretty solid so I guess it will withstand alot. Since all of my effects are in there I trust in it. In emergency I'd use my DigiTech RP200A but only in the worst case. // 10

Impression: My style tends to be more metal but I also play Satriani, Vai, that kind of stuff. This effect processor gives me everything I want for that. I compared it to a Boss 50ME and a Live POD. I decided to buy the Korg 'cause the Live POD was too expensive and in comparison it's not worth. The Boss was similiar but I liked the Korg more because I found it more punchy in the distortion sounds. Well, nothing to add anymore. Just check it out when you get the chance!

The new AX1500G goes beyond any existing multi-effect unit in its sound, design and ease of use. It's a further evolution of the award-winning AX1000G.

Purchased from: Academy Of Sound

Ease of Use: This multi effects pedal is realy easy to use if you give the manual a read. It has 48 preset effect programmes from super heavy ditortion, to light overdriven and smooth clean sounds. It has loads of effects I've never heard of before buying this like filtron, talk box, ring modulator pitchshifter etc, so you can get some realy cool wierd sounds. It also idividual mode aswell allowing you to make your own programmes how you want to. Editing is realy easy with simple controls and dials etc. // 8
Sound: This pedal has a great sound. I'm using a Epiphone Les Paul Studio with it and a Roland Microcube amp and I can get a wide variety of tones from it with these. Only use this pedal with a clean setting on your amp, if use ditortion on top of the ditortion you're already using it gets quite noisey. The effects sound realy natrual and some of the ditortions you can get are great, also you can simulate cabs which also sound realistic and very natrual. It's great for getting sounds of almost any artists from Hendrix, to blink to even Metallica and SOAD if you want it. The effects from the expresion pedal are also very impressive, from a nice wha and delay effects to screaming ring modulators. It also has a Phase Trainer, allowing you to record a rhythm rif and play a lead over it which is very nice for playing songs without using two guitars. // 10

Reliability & Durability: Its a realy tough pedal, the bulk of it made of metal with rubber on the bottom to stop it slipping about. I doubt this will ever get seriousley damaged and I have played it live once before and would deffinetly use it again live. // 10

Impression: I play mostly punk, classic rock and metal and this creates mostly perfect sounds for this and any sort of music realy and the loads of diffrent effects puts that extra edge to your playing. I've been playing for more than three years now and this about a year and I can realy depend on it whtever I'm playing. This combined with my amp and guitar makes a very nice trio. It has its flaws of course, like if you have it for a while the preset programmes start to sound very similar but you can create your own anyway. All the effects can be edited to the way you want them to sound and there is so many you get neary endless possibilities of tones. My only realy issue is the preset proggrammes as I said before but otherwise it a good pedal and well worth the money as it will probably last forever.

Everything you hear was done exclusively on a Toneworks AX1000G. Due to the content of each demo, a large file is required and a high-speed Internet connection is recommended.

Price paid: $ 128.1

Purchased from: Ebay

Ease of Use: This little effects board is very old now, but I think it deserves a little something on this site to keep the toneworks range alive. For the money there really is no complaining at all, the preset patches are varied and fun (for a while) and editing them is clear and simple. Ideal for a young guitarist who isn't quite sure what a phaser is etc. Many avenues can be explored with this little gadget. // 8
Sound: I have mainly used a Custom Les Paul (not a custom as in factory made) and my Randall G3 along with a Laney MXD30 at one point. But this is really is the point, now this product is really just for cheap good experimenting. Noise supressor is good. Effects are average and varied, a few diverse ones and Drive amps are solid enough sounding with a good rig behind it. // 7

Reliability & Durability: Purely a bedroom gadget for me now. I would use it as a backup if everything I else broke but it does need a lot of tweaking with to sound spot on for each player. Never had a problem with it, never broken, very durable (taken a lot of bashing) etc in 3 years. // 10

Impression: In it's time it would have been brilliant. Now I use an X3 so it's not quite such a competitor. Built for great value, if you see one floating around on ebay or whatever, buy it! You will most likely not want to gig it at all, but I think it deserves recognition for being a smart wee gadget!

GT-5 Review

The Boss GT-5 is the first pedal board style Guitar Multi Effects Processor to incorporate Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM).This technology allows the GT-5 to emulate several of the world¼s most popular guitar amps and speaker cabinets.

Ease of Use: The unit overall is fairly easy to use providing you read the instructions that come with the unit or your knowledge of acheiving a nice sound is a lot better then somone Who is new to the game. If you are not familiar with products like this I suggest you read the instructions it comes with before you start pressing buttons. Editing, creating, storing, moving and writing patches couldnt be simpler (provided you know what to do, like I mentioned above). You have the option to select the effect, if it is on/off or what effect preset you would like to use. As for switching between patches, it comes with use presets and factory presets, can't remember off the top of my head, but well in the hundreds all together. In each bank you get the choice of switching between 5 patches on the board. You can easily scroll through each bank, either using the 'B' Switch, then selecting on the board (1-5) if you have a group of banks, this makes it really easy when gigging, or you can use the 'scroll knob' which will move through every patch, one after the other. // 8
Sound: I've used it with an Epiphone ES-335 and an Epiphone Firebird (and a few others, but these are my preffered guitars) along with a Marshall MG100HDFX and TSL100. On the GT-5 there is a 'Pre-Amp' and 'Speaker Simulation' option which can be turned on either by patch or globally. If these are on, you will find it will kill your amps tone instantly, so I always have these off on every patch I use. With these off and just using the patches for their effects (which include a lot of the more popular Boss effects, and some others (whammy is one that I found that I've not seen in a Boss stomp)) the effects Shine through without killing your amps tone. And when you are using a tube amp, this is a crutial must, that you turn these two options off. there's not actually a unit 'bypass', there is a Tuner/Bypass mode, but this just kills the sound from the outputs, so the unit is most deffinatly not having 'true' bypass. But if you construct a patch with no effects on what'so ever and store it as a preset, it will go directly to your amp without the unit effecting your signal. You can still of course use the built in wah pedal to control the signal volume if you wish. This is somthing I find very useful when not using a stand alone controll. The effects really do Shine through, and there are a good few on there. Chorus, delay, flanger, not to mention the Wah Controlled Whammy effect, and a moddeled Boss SYB-5 patch on the Unit. But they may not be as clear if you are using an amp with a high gain setting/tone (Metal level of gain). // 9

Reliability & Durability: I've used it a few times at different gigs, and it's still yet to fail me. I've had it about 3 years now, and I baught it second hand when I got it, and it had no problems before I baught it, and it has none now. Only a few scratches on the unit, but that expected of all floor units. One worry I do have tho, is the wah pedal is plastic, and those with a 'heavyer handed' way of using floor units, over time this could result in damage to the pedal, but as I said, I'm still yet to find a fault with it, and I'm not exactly 'light footed'. I've never thought about taking a backup with me to any gigs. // 10

Impression: This unit is great for the effects it comes with. As I've been in the game a lot longer now then what I had the unit, I have a tendancy to buy stomp-boxes, and individual effect units now, simply because you can customise them a lot more then you can a floor unit (mods for example), and you can mix and match them and turn on or off effects when you please, as apposed to moving through patches of different presets. And the signal effect itself is a lot more customisable with stomp units, and you can mix and match a lot easyer, and you're not constricted to using only effect designs from the Boss brand. But, if you're looking for somthing space saving, somthing to play around with or easy to take to gigs with you or just practice with, I really would suggest you get this. It's also great for beginners (provided they read the instructions) as it offeres a lot of different sounds that maybe only somone who is professionally gigging or performing may be able to afford via individual units. I'm glad I baught it, and I still use it from time to time now, even along with my stomp effects, and I use a variaty of other wah's in the units effects loop.

Ease of Use: This thing is awesome. I have been playing for about nine months now, both various kinds of metal and some '60s "new ageish" folk/metal (thats right, combined) stuff and thisthing can do it all and then more. It can play any style you want, metal, country, folk, punl, classic rock, or anything you can think up of on your own. It has everything you would ever need, distortion, chorus, reverb, delay, phaser, flanger, wah, tremelo, vibrato, it just goes on and on. It also has a freakin' sweet system where you can model amps, like a driven stack or oldschool blues tube amp. The version I bought didn't come with an owners manual, which is crappy due the bigillion functions this thing has. So I fixed that by downloading the manual off the internet at www.Boss.com and did a search for the owners manual, and got it right then and there. Now I don't know if that was just me, but I wrote that down just in case. Also I sould note that thy discontinued the GT6 and came out with the GT8 for $399 or $499, not really sure, but would try to get my hands on this bad boy before it goes away. // 8
Sound: Right now I am playing an Ibanez RG 321, which was great for its price, and a 15 watt Crate, but I plan to get a Fender FM212 100 watt soon, just need the money. It can have some unwanted feedback when you combine too many of the electronic features, or push teh volume too much directly on the system, but thats what the master volume knob is for on the amp. But if you don't get effects happy or push the system too hard, it sounds pretty good. But I can still get a hell of alot better distortion out of my Line 6 UberMetal petal, but that thing is top of the line hardcore. Other than that, the sound of the effects are pretty good. Also, it has a MIDI hook-up, and if you have a MIDI bank on your computer, you can get some crazy sounds like a piano or a squeeling pig if you have it. And if you don't its easy to get from a google search. // 7

Reliability & Durability: I have not found anything wrong with it, and it is made out of mostly metal, with rugged pedals and knobs. I have droped it once on soncrete for arms length, and survived just fine. I haven't done a show with it due to the absence of being in a full fleged band, but it is defiently up to the task, without a backup, to due any show you throw at it. // 7

Impression: I play hippie/metal, but it would suit any guitar player out there, and does just fine from my crazy styles I randomly come up with like a flanged acoustic (very space rock) or a simple classic Overdrive with a fast slicer. I really hoped it came with an accutual owners manual, because the computer version is hard to follow and read. I love all the functions, but I don't like the distortion feature, I think that they could have doen better. I would bust a cap if it got stolen, and would try to replace it any way possible, but it is expensive (for good reason).

Turn your electric guitar into an acoustic using four distinct modes: standard, jumbo, enhance, and piezo. Two individual outputs permit instant switching between different amps (one for electric sounds; one of acoustic).

Ease of Use: This product is very easy to get a sound out of. The battery compartment is about the easiest thing to open, which is uncommon, usually because other models make you pinch the sides, this little guy just lets you unscrew something in the front, and viola, you have yourself a easy battery change. The manual is self descriptive, however this pedal is discontinued, and they are usually factory re-seals so don't count on a manual. // 10
Sound: I use this pedal with a Line 6 Spider II 15 watt amp and a brownville guitar and it's very easy to achieve a full bodied acoustic sound out of this one. It is also possible to get a hollow-sounding sound, such like those found in semi acoustic-electric guitars. It does not get noisy, but this is mainly because it is an acoustic simulator and these pedals do not require high gain. The effects all sound superb! There are four options, standard, jumbo, enhance, and piezo. All these have unique characteristics, ranging from standard(a common acoustic, homely) to enhance and jumbo (above common acoustic). I can play some good jet songs on here, plus in combo with a distortion pedal I can play some good Breaking Benjamin breakdowns. haha disregard the pun. Anyway this pedal is fully capable of capturing most acoustic stuff. // 10

Reliability & Durability: Oh man this thing can take a beating. It's solid metal construction and the red led light is below the pedal, and the knobs are out of the way for the most part, although not submerged in the pedal like some professional models. If I went on the road, or to a gig I would use it, although I'd just make sure that the pedal wouldn't crap out on me at the moment I need it for say a bridge, also buy an ac adapter. It's just easier for gigs and such like. I would use this pedal on stage. Awesome pedal. // 10

Impression: My overall impression is that for $69 you can't go wrong. This pedal allows me to play 3 Doors Down, Goo Goo Dolls, Breaking Benjamin, jet, allman brothers, among others. it's just a good pedal, it even sounds nice with the sond everything changes by Staind. The pedal works. I would buy it again if it were stolen, and the only thing I hate is that this pedal does not have the extra reverb button that the AC-3 Boss pedal has. Although it works just fine with the built in reverb on my amp. // 10

BOSS GT-8

07 June 2008

Pengen punya semua efek stompbox BOSS tapi dana nggak cukup??

Tenang aja, sekarang telah hadir BOSS GT-8. Multiefek lantai termutakhir keluaran BOSS ini telah hadir untuk menggantikan peran efek-efek stompbox yang pernah dikeluarkan BOSS secara 'all in one'.

Besar, Hitam, Panjang, dan Sangar!! Itulah karakter BOSS GT-8 dari segi fisik.
Bagaimana dengan karakter suaranya?
Jangan khawatir bos, suaranya gak kalah dengan tampangnya. ;)

Nggak perlu beli efek stompbox satu persatu seperti Flanger, Compressor, Metal Zone, OD, dll.

  5. Humanizer. Seperti karakter wah-wah, tapi efek ini memiliki karakter suara vocal manusia (a,i,u,e,o).

Terus ada Midi In dan Out nya lagi.

BOSS GT-8

KEKURANGAN :

No body's perfect.
* Beberapa orang menyebut karakter sound GT-8 masih terlalu digital.

GT-8 dijual rata-rata Rp. 3.300.000,-.

Bila anda telah memiliki BOSS GT-8 dan ingin mendownload serta ingin selalu up to date dengan efek kesayangan anda tersebut, silahkan bergabung di BOSS GT Central.

Tips memilih atau memebeli effect guitar

Posted by E_FRIZ4L on Saturday, February 07, 2009

Acuan Analog/stompbox Digital/multi effect
Harga

kita hanya perlu membeli satu efek saja

Kualitas suara

Kualitas suara standar

Jumlah tone

Lebih sedikit

Lebih banyak
Catudaya

Boros baterai, karena tiap-tiap efek yang dirangkai
perlu catu daya sendiri.

Jika
perlu adaptor, hanya perlu satu saja

Mobilitas

Tidak enak dibawa kemana-mana, lebih berat, kecuali
hanya membeli satu efek saja(tidak dirangkai)
:)

Mudah dibawa kemana-mana

Konektivitas
